Patient Counseling

A medicine only works if the patient knows how to use it. Train the conversations that make that happen.

Patient counseling is the bridge between a correct dispense and a correct outcome. PharmaSim scenarios train you to explain how, when and why to take a medicine, to surface important warnings, and to handle sensitive or emotional conversations without judgement.

Explaining use clearly

Patients forget or misunderstand instructions even when they are printed. Counselling means confirming, in plain language, how often to take the medicine, for how long, what to do about a missed dose, and what improvement to expect.

Scenarios include patients with low health literacy, language barriers and anxiety — the situations where a scripted label is not enough.

Warnings and side effects

Good counselling tells a patient what to expect, what is harmless, and what is a warning sign that requires a doctor or emergency care. Over-warning causes anxiety and non-adherence; under-warning causes harm. Scenarios help you find the balance.

Difficult and sensitive conversations

Some requests are uncomfortable: contraception and sexual health, mental health, addiction, end-of-life care. The simulator trains a non-judgemental, professional response that keeps the patient safe and willing to return.
